The Council’s reading is worth something only if it cannot be bought. This policy is published before any commercial agreement is concluded, and every supporter and member agreement includes it by reference.
- Book selection is made solely by the two co-authors of Wisdom … Forgotten, Prof. Bassem Khafagy and Dr. Christopher Washington, on grounds of intellectual merit. No supporter, member or institutional client has any influence over selection, treatment or commentary.
- No book published by a current supporter is selected during that supporter’s season.
- All financial support is disclosed openly in the issue, in the language of support.
- Advisory clients are not covered editorially for twelve months after an engagement.
- Page-level quotation verification applies without exception, whatever the commercial relationship.
